Unlike traditional plasterboard, Matilda’s Blanket is extremely robust and has up to 70kg hanging resistance.
Impact tests on the Blanket system saw 68 hammer drops on the front face with no resultant damage, while plasterboard failed after 5 drops. Equally there are no issues with hanging significant loads to the wall, kitchen cupboards, shelving or TV’s can be fixed directly with standard and approved fixings.
-
Matilda’s Blanket is a patented system, which uses an exceptionally smart damper and track system which allows the new wall to ‘float’ within the structure, letting it move with the building, preventing any potential cracks.
The blanket is thermally decoupled from the inherited structure. This gives it significantly better technical performance in thermal and acoustic insulation and, along with other features, addresses the most common concern in IWI systems; that of moisture transfer.
It ensures that both standard and interstitial condensation is prevented by avoiding any dramatic temperature changes.
-
The system is demountable if required as it is not directly fixed to the structure and therefore can be easily replaced if required.
-
The Blanket system comes with a 25-year parts and performance guarantee.
-
Item descriptionCoving / Skirting etc are all removed and refitted or replaced.

The system is demountable if required, as it is not directly fixed to the structure and therefore can be easily removed and replaced. Additional sockets and light switches can be installed.
-
The finished wall can be treated as a normal wall which can be decorated in any desired fashion. It can be painted with ease and wallpaper may be hung to the finished wall.
-
Existing skirting boards are removed and will be replaced after install.
-
Yes, in order to install the damper and track system, access to the structure of the building is required. All flooring will be refitted as part of the project.
-
The panels are designed and built off-site – each one specially tailored to fit the wall in that room – making the installation both incredibly fast and very simple.
Doors and windows are taken into consideration during the survey allowing each blanket to be installed around them with ease and accurately.
-
Radiators will be removed, the pipe work will be extended for them to be reinstalled on the wall front after the installation is complete.

-
Matilda’s Blanket had undergone numerous fire testing and has been deemed safe by UKs’ leading accreditors. These fire ratings were awarded after weeks of rigorous testing using open flames in controlled environments.
Matilda’s Blanket has been independently tested by the following institutions:
BBA – The British Board of Agrément
Warrington Fire Testing and Certification
Copies of both are available to download from our website.

Yes, the Blanket system can be installed in flats that are under 11m in height.
-
Yes, absolutely. We have installed the blanket in over 1000 homes, installing the Blanket will not hinder mobile or internet reception.
-
This may vary from property to property depending on the suggested usage of the blanket, where the kitchen is situated, and which walls require insulation.

-
Air bricks will remain unchanged and the passage of air will not be affected. The blanket system is installed without affecting the existing structure of the building.

Matilda’s Blanket uses a state-of-the-art membrane which is breathable. This allows for the slow and graduate passage of air which prevents interstitial condensation. Heat from the home and the outside during warmer months also assists with the elimination of and interstitial condensation.
-
During the initial survey of the property, any pre-existing problems that may hinder the blankets performance will be noted and advice on remedial works will be provided.
In an ideal situation, the problem of a damp external wall should be addressed prior to the installation.
